Frequently Asked Questions

The questions below cover the most common topics raised by our clients. If your question is not addressed here, please write to support@printoni.com — we read and answer every message personally, typically within 24 hours.

How do I order a custom pet portrait?

Choose the piece you would like commissioned, then upload a clear photograph of your beloved companion at checkout. Our studio reviews each submission, and a digital proof is prepared for your approval before production begins. The process is designed to be considered, not rushed.

What kind of photos work best for pet portraits?

Well-lit, high-resolution photographs taken at eye level produce the most faithful results. Natural daylight is ideal, and a clear view of the face — with eyes visible and facial features unobscured — gives our artists the detail required for a refined finish. A photograph that captures the character of your beloved companion will translate beautifully into a finished portrait.

Can you make portraits from old or low-quality photos?

In many cases, yes. Our studio is experienced in working from older or imperfect source images, and we are often able to restore detail through careful artistic interpretation. If we believe a photograph cannot yield a result we would be proud to deliver, we will tell you before production begins and help you decide how to proceed.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Production takes 2–5 business days, followed by shipping of 5–9 business days within the United States, 7–12 to Canada, and 10–15 to Australia. Full timelines are available on our Shipping & Returns page. Express options are offered at checkout for orders that need to arrive sooner.

Do you offer rush production for memorial pieces?

Memorial keepsakes are prioritized in our production queue as a matter of policy. If you are working within a particular window of time — a service, a memorial gathering, or a personal date of significance — please email us at support@printoni.com with the details, and we will do everything we can to accommodate.

What materials do you use?

We use archival papers, fade-resistant inks, and museum-grade canvas — the same standards employed by galleries and serious collectors. Our home decor pieces, including sherpa blankets and throw pillows, are produced with comparable attention to material weight, finish, and longevity. Each piece is intended to be lived with for many years.

Will my portrait fade or change color over time?

No. Our inks and substrates are selected for archival performance and are tested to resist fading under normal indoor conditions. A portrait commissioned today will look as faithful in twenty years as it does on the day it arrives, provided it is not exposed to direct, prolonged sunlight.

Can I request changes after seeing the proof?

Yes. The digital proof stage exists precisely so that adjustments can be made before production. Refinements to color, framing, expression, or background are welcomed, and we work with you until the proof feels right. Production begins only after you have given approval.

Do you ship internationally outside US/CA/AU?

At present, we ship only to the United States, Canada, and Australia. We are evaluating expansion to additional regions and recommend writing to support@printoni.com if you would like to be notified when service becomes available in your country.

What if my pet has unusual features (heterochromia, missing limb, etc.)?

Distinctive features are part of what makes a beloved companion themselves, and our artists treat them with the same care as any other detail. Heterochromia, scars, missing limbs, asymmetry, or unusual markings are rendered faithfully and without alteration unless you specifically request otherwise. Please mention any details you would like us to be aware of when submitting your photograph.

Do you offer gift wrapping or gift messages?

Yes. Gift wrapping is available at checkout, and a personal message can be included on a card enclosed with the piece. For gifts of particular significance — anniversaries, memorials, or milestone occasions — we are glad to coordinate timing so the package arrives on the right day.

Can I order for a deceased pet using old photos?

Yes, and these are among the commissions we hold in highest regard. We approach memorial portraits with care, discretion, and patience, and we are accustomed to working from photographs that may be older or limited in quantity. Please share what you can, and we will guide you through the rest.
